A medical camp to identify and address ailments affecting children was held at Zedec children’s home on Saturday 22nd.

Organised by Nanyuki Ndio Home group, the camp saw children from the home and others from outside get check ups for various illnesses.

Present at the event were Bill and Caroline Kirk of Nanyuki Children’s Charity Trust(NCCT) in England. The couple, which was also those funding the event, said that the venture is a good way towards ensuring proper development of children in a world marred by diseases. The Kirks have been supporting Nanyuki children’s home for 8 years now through their trust group in England.

Amazing to learn was that the couple has also motivated locals in their hometown- Ringwood, Hampshire, to support initiatives helping the less fortunate children in Laikipia.Last but not least Laikipia East MP,Mr. Mutahi Kimaru, turned up at the event and assured them of full and committed support from his office. The MP said that plans are already underway to ensure that homeless children leave the streets.
